iMig 2025: A Global Gathering for the Mesothelioma Community
Every two years, our global community comes together for the world’s preeminent congress devoted exclusively to all aspects of the study and treatment of mesothelioma. iMig is more than just a meeting; it’s a celebration of the work we do, the patients we serve, and the progress we have made together. It is a space for collaboration, innovation, and connection that transcends borders, backgrounds, and politics.
We understand that international travel can bring challenges in many ways. But your presence is not only welcomed — it is essential in our continued journey to treat mesothelioma. You are part of this story, and your voice belongs in the room.
We are here to support you in making this journey. To help you prepare for a smooth arrival and departure, we encourage all delegates to take the following steps:
Apply for a U.S. visa or ESTA Early
Visa processing times vary, so we recommend applying as soon as possible.
Request your Official iMig 2025 Invitation Letter
This is often required for visa applications but can also be requested even if you don’t require a visa. This letter will help maintain consistency in documentation and prevent misunderstandings at immigration checkpoints. Having the correct documentation will ensure a smoother entry process and help avoid any unintended miscommunication about the nature of your visit.
Confirm your Visa Type
Double-check that you are applying for the correct visa category (if applicable). Delegates from some countries may be eligible for an online ESTA.
Gather Supporting Documentation
Include proof of registration, hotel bookings, return flights, the above-mentioned invitation letter, and connections to your home country (employment, family, etc.).
Review any Transit Requirements
If passing through another country, confirm if transit visas or other entry conditions apply.
Stay Up to Date on Border Policies
Requirements can shift, so monitor your local U.S. embassy or consulate website.
Carry Printed Copies of Key Documents
While digital versions help, physical copies of your visa, invitation, and travel plans are recommended.
Be Prepared for Border Questions
Clearly state your purpose: attending a medical/scientific congress.
Ensure Name Consistency
Double-check that your name matches exactly across all travel and visa documents.
We deeply value the sacrifices you make to attend — time away from home, patients, and colleagues — and we promise to make this experience worthy of that effort.
We look forward to seeing you at iMig 2025 in Philadelphia.
